Hello there! Autumn is officially upon us and with it comes some of my favourite style elements. No matter what the current trends are, autumn is always a good time for plaid, corduroy, jewel tones and coziness. I’ve put together five outfits based on these elements and inspired by typical autumnal activities. Whether you’re here for the clothes or looking for inspiration to add to your autumn bucket list, there’s something for everyone!
If you checked out my early autumn wishlist, you may spot some items making an appearance here too. The main idea though is to inspire you to think outside the box with your style choices and repurpose what you own in a creative way to celebrate the new season!

Brambling
Brambling is one of things I look forward to in the autumn! Free snacks on your commute / walk / run… What’s not to love? There’s a bit of disagreement in my family about whether the berries are called brambles or blackberries. But to me, a blackberry is the kind of phone I had ten years ago (argh that makes me feel a bit old!) and Wikipedia says that “bramble” can refer to the products of the plant, so bramble it is! (Feel free to share your opinion in the comments, but please respect other people’s views, ha!)

Pssst: if you feel like buying some of the products from Joules I’ve featured above (namely the scarf, the jumper and the jacket), follow this link to get a voucher for 20% off!
Working from a café
Yes, I know you can work from a café in any season… But there’s something about the rainy days and the leaves changing outside that makes it feel a lot cosier and more indulgent! Also, if you’re willing to admit it (like me), some of the autumnal coffee specials (like pumpkin spice) do make the whole experience more special!

White jumper (for 20% off at Joules click here) ☕ Navy beret ☕ Checkered jacket ☕ Notebook ☕ Navy skirt ☕ Nail polish ☕ Boots
I featured these boots in my back to school / early autumn wishlist and I know they’re quite pricey… My quest continues to find a more affordable alternative – please get in touch if you know of one!
Baking (or eating!) apple pie
I don’t know if it’s the pregnancy or being back in the United Kingdom (definitely cooler than Brazil), but I’ve been wanting to get into baking more. I’ve also been craving pastry haha! The outfit below would be suitable for both, or you could just watch the Great British Bake Off in it. (Do you watch it? Is it worthy of the hype? Should I check it out? Share in the comments below!)

Carving pumpkins
I couldn’t do an autumnal activities post without including carving pumpkins! I love this kind of child-like activity… I’m grateful for having a kiddo coming soon, so that I have an official excuse to indulge in them, ha!

Oak T-shirt 🎃 Pumpkin spice candle 🎃 Corduroy pinafore dress 🎃 Flannel shirt 🎃 Nail polish 🎃 Tassel loafers
You could wear the shirt on top of the outfit, a bit like a cardigan, or tie it around your waist. Also… How nice are those shoes? I’m quite tempted to get myself a pair!
Reading crime novels
This comfy outfit would work for reading detective stories or watching scary films… Though I’m less keen on the latter since watching Event Horizon and being quite scarred (if you haven’t seen it, just don’t do it!). So I’m thinking books instead haha. Have you read A Study in Charlotte? For some reason, as I mentioned in a much earlier post, I associate Sherlock Holmes books with autumn and this is the story of his great-great-great-granddaughter, so it sounds quite promising. Whatever it is you’re reading or watching, please take this as your official permission to grab a hot drink and snuggle under a blanket!

To the best of my knowledge, all the products I’ve listed are vegan-friendly. I’ve tried to favour clothes that are ethical / sustainable, but if there are any brands that you would like to recommend, please do so in the comments below!
