Invited to a spring wedding? Lucky you! Not only am I going to share great spring wedding outfits, but also how you can rewear the dress later on. I can’t seem to find the statistic about how often wedding guest dresses are worn, but it’s not a pretty picture, with lots of us feeling pressure to wear a unique outfit to each occasion…

But if we’re going to spend money on being the best dressed guest, we might as well stretch that investment and rewear the beautiful dress we bought. Because Mondays and Thursdays are great days to feel like a princess too!

With all that said, here are spring wedding outfits for four different dress codes, each with an idea of how to rewear the dress post-wedding. Also, if the dress I chose isn’t your jam, I’ve included a few (48 total!) more options for you to choose from, at different price points.

Outdoor spring wedding outfits

This is probably the most casual dress code, but it’s still nice to look like you’ve made an effort. So no jeans, flip flops, etc.! As with all of the wedding outfits though, I’ve included ways to repurpose the dress. So even if you buy something new, you can hopefully get quite a bit of use.

A few considerations for outdoor weddings (and other events):

• Think carefully about your choice of shoes and maybe err on the side of caution with flat sandals, wedges or shoes with a chunky heel… so that you don’t get stuck in the grass!
• Consider the weather: if you think it will be hot, choose natural materials (e.g. linen, cotton) and/or dresses that are flowy to keep you cool. On the flip side, it’s always worth having an extra layer with you, just in case.
• Think before you spray: I’m not 100% sure about this, but I’ve heard of people getting weird reactions from wearing perfume in the sun. On a less sexy note, it might be worth having mosquito spray with you if that’s an issue in your area.

I love this dress! I’m very tempted to get it, or one of the alternatives below, so I can walk around the house like a flowy princess haha. This outfit would also work for a spring graduation, bridal or baby shower, etc.!

Spring destination wedding outfits

Destination weddings (especially if you’re going somewhere sunny) can be a great opportunity to try out some bold patterns or colours. If it is going to be hot, please refer to my advice above about wearing light fabrics.

Spring wedding outfits for a cocktail dress code (or no dress code!)

Most (if not all) weddings I’ve been to didn’t have a dress code, so this is what I’d aim for if you’re not sure either. Cocktail attire isn’t as fancy as black-tie (below), but generally dresses would be below the knee and the outfit would generally look put-together.

I saw navy blue and pink paired together in a magazine recently and I’m glad I did, it’s not a colour combo that naturally comes to mind, but it completely works for spring! (Also, I’ve been looking for this kind of “lady jacket” for a while; I think I might be getting it before it sells out…)

This outfit could be reimagined for a feminine daytime date outfit or something you want to look a bit fancy for (book signing, awards ceremony… depending on what you do!). I’ve offered you two different cover-up options here, depending on how formal/casual you want to go.

Black-tie spring wedding outfits

Black-tie is the most formal dress code and will generally involve a floor-length gown. But even a black-tie dress can be reworn, trust me!

You could rewear the dress with a turtleneck on top to go to a cultural event (e.g. to an exhibition or a play) or just whenever you want to feel fancy haha. This outfit would also work in the autumn.
